Bhejane Base Camp in Kuleni Game Reserve is situated amongst rare sand forest vegetation, creating a wonderful peaceful atmosphere for learning. After a full day of exciting activities, nothing beats drifting off to sleep and awakening to start a new day, to the soothing sounds of the forest’s wildlife.

Kuleni Game Reserve is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, with regular animal visitors moving through camp, such as giraffe, red duiker, nyala and on occasion leopard (photographed on camera trap). This property is also home to an exciting array of Zululand birding specials.

Bhejane Base Camp is located on the False Bay border of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, a renowned UNESCO World Heritage site.

This camp’s facilities are:

  • 2-3-man canvas tents with wooden beds & mattresses inside
  • Wooden huts with wooden beds & mattresses inside
  • Toilet and shower blocks
  • Hot water available (not always guaranteed!)
  • Handwashing basins
  • Washing lines for air drying clothes (after handwashing)
  • Main camp kitchen (meals provided, often a 'braai' - BBQ)
  • Camp shop (crisps, chocolate, soft drinks, insect repellent, soap etc)
  • Library books available on request (for studying)
  • Camp bar on site (open in evening - strictly 2 drinks a night max, no underage drinking permitted)
  • Swimming pool
  • Wifi available in camp (not always guaranteed!)
